Heart of Jesus, Worthy of all Praise
“As he continued his journey to Jerusalem,he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met [him]. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.” (Lk 17:11-19) Jesus Christ is worthy of all honor and glory. His great love and deeds are flowing from it are enough reason to give him honor. He is our Lord and God, worthy of praising and glorifying Him. Jesus with his life points to the Father and wants to give him glory.
"None was found that would return and give glory to God" - in these words we can feel the sadness of Jesus, who healing the sick, giving love had the right to expect gratitude. Jesus judged people many times and praised them. This was the case of Nathanael, of whom he said that he was true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit (cf. J. 1.46). He praised the poor widow who, from her poverty, gave everything she had into the treasury (cf. Mk 12, 41 - 44). He also praised the Syrophenician or Centurion for great faith. Jesus always sees man, praised him and enjoyed with him. So often we need praise. Our life is heading towards heaven, where we will enjoy its glory. Already here on earth we want gratitude and praise for the good that we do. Every praise here on earth can be such an announcement of the glory that we will achieve in heaven. However, we must not forget that the first to be praised is Jesus Christ. We thank him for revealing his great glory to us.
LIVE THE WORD!
Take a look at your life and think about whether you are a person who gives God glory, who can be grateful to God and people. Look around you and thank the person you have not thanked for a long time.
Until Tomorrow
