Heart of Jesus, Atonement for our sins

IMG_2871.jpeg

“My children, I am writing this to you so that you may not commit sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one.  He is expiation for our sins, and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world.” (1Jn 2:1-2)

When I do something wrong in my life and hurt another person, I know I should apologize to him/her. It is so clear and obvious.

But, when I sin against God, I may feel unworthy to stand before Him and apologize to Him. However, I can do it because I am aware that Jesus was the first to stand before the Father and "apologize" for my sins. He took all our sins and repented for them. That is why I can stand before my father even after committing a sin. I can stand and ask for forgiveness because Jesus has given it to me. And I am sure that I will receive what I am asking for. Jesus gave himself entirely to the Father. He sacrificed everything for our salvation. He made the greatest sacrifice for my sins.

That's what  Jesus did for love of me. This love will never end. Today Jesus loves us just as much. He stayed with us in the Blessed Sacrament, so that we could come to Him, glorify Him and draw on the source of His mercy. Let us thank Jesus today for having asked the Father forgiveness for our sins.

LIVE THE WORD!

Look at the cross and stay in contemplation for a moment, thanking Jesus for taking on your sins.

Until Tomorrow
