The Spirit of God dwells in you
Brothers and sisters:
You are not in the flesh;
on the contrary, you are in the spirit,
if only the Spirit of God dwells in you.
Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. (Rom 8:9)
In my thinking about myself and others, I try to cross the threshold of what is visible and tangible in me and yet mortal. In everyday life I avoid excessive succumbing to my biological and psychological needs, and above all I try to see in myself and in others what is immortal in us, although invisible.
“The Spirit of God dwells in you”. This is amazing. Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński considered the discovery of this truth about himself as a condition of Christian participation in supernatural life. He wrote: "The soul and life of the Church is unity ... in which God unites all kinds of people in Christ." Such a view, however, requires from each of us "the awareness of a supernatural community with a head visible on earth and invisible at the right hand of God the Father."
For those who trust in Christ, this discovery opens new horizons. We start to think and act differently when we realize that we are not strangers. That the same Spirit that is in me is also present in every person I meet. Each of us belongs to Christ and the Spirit of God lives in each of us.
Until Tomorrow
