Overcome Discouragement

"Why go to confession if I'm going to sin anyway? Why should I struggle with myself, if it does not help, Am I still the same?" Such dilemmas appear more than once in life, maybe they are also yours?

Yes, it is certainly not easy to come to terms with the fact that we have to face the same endless problems over and over again, sometimes with no hope of getting out of them. But why do we feel that God is incapable of accepting that we are like this? Are you afraid of the priest? After all, you have the right to choose a confessor. Do not throw away a treasure if you do not like the hand that gives it to you. If you feel weaker and weaker, you discover more and more selfishness and self-absorption, if you are overwhelmed by your weaknesses - do not be discouraged - rejoice - Jesus has just come to you. Do you think that God forgiving you does not know that in a few days you will fall again?

His omnipotence and mercy are the most beautiful in that, knowing about our future, he willingly forgets it and forgives our sins. You can always come if you want. Self-accusation takes a brief moment of humiliation. But is condemning your own sins really humiliating? Do you not feel peace in your heart after confessing your infirmity? The Church maintains the practice of individual confession so that you can personally express what is bothering you. You would not have had such an option if it were general in nature. To God, you are not one of many - part of a mass - you are unique and unrepeatable.

The value of man in God's eyes is not expressed in a small number of falls, but above all in the will to try anew. No matter how often we fall, it is important to keep coming back. How many activities must we undertake every day, and so it is in the spiritual life. Habit restricts your freedom. If it paralyzes us, we need to regain our freedom persistently and patiently. Therefore, do not despair and torment yourself, but trust in God's mercy.

Until Tomorrow
