Forgiveness is love

God is present in every word that touches you and sustains you. He is present in the hand on your shoulder. God is present on the mouth that kisses you lovingly. In the heartfelt embrace of human arms, you feel the warmth of the Divine Heart. People can speak meaningfully about God and understand each other if God's Love lives in their hearts.

Saint Faustina complains to Jesus: “How little these people say about you. About everything but you, Jesus. And if they say little, they probably do not think at all”.

Usually, the first strike against the other is the word. Be careful when talking about another person. Words can be a formidable weapon; they can inflict heavy wounds on others. Let God live in your word, and it will then be light, live and love.

“You give us the opportunity, Lord, to train ourselves in works of mercy, and we train ourselves in judgment,” said Saint Faustina.

Every act of forgiveness that we offer to one another makes our love bloom again. “Forgiveness is a constant return to first love and fidelity. Love works in fidelity and perfects in forgiveness”. (Piet van Breemen, SJ).

The mistakes and weaknesses with which we hurt ourselves against our own good will, they do not have to degrade our love, but they can become a place for its perfection through mutual forgiveness.

When we forgive and accept God's forgiveness, we are filled with mercy. Mercy means love and forgiveness. Mercy is the missing link in love. You cannot love without being able to show mercy. Nor can you show mercy without loving!

“Jesus: My daughter, do you think you have written enough about My mercy? What you have written is but a drop compared to the ocean. I am Love and Mercy Itself. There is no misery that could be a match for My mercy, neither will misery exhaust it, because as it is being granted – it increases. The soul that trusts in My mercy is most fortunate because I Myself take care of it”. (Saint Faustina, Diary 1273)
