Time of Mercy Blog

Christ is Risen. He is Risen indeed. Alleluia!

"Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has power over him." His resurrection is the most important truth of the Christian faith, because it is thanks to his resurrection that Christ revealed himself to us as the one who, through the power of love, overcame death. He also showed us a new, previously unknown dimension of life. Christ remained a bodily being, but he entered a new dimension of life unknown to us. Evangelists emphasize that He appeared the same, but not in the same body. In place of the "earthly body," a "heavenly body" appeared. In place of Soma Psychikon, or "sensual body," appeared Soma Pneumatikon, or "spiritual body." Saint Paul calls this new dimension of the Risen Lord's existence the "Cosmic" body of Christ.

Faith in the Risen One gives us unwavering hope that the last word does not belong to death, but to Christ, the Giver of eternal life. Without faith in this truth, there is neither a Christian nor Christianity. A rejection of faith in the resurrection of Christ would reduce faith to the role of "organizer" of social life or emotional comforter in difficult situations. This faith is the most important matter of our lives, because it gives life a clear direction. Without her, we would be like the captain of a ship who knows how to sail but forgot where he is going.

An authentic meeting with the risen Christ leads to conversion and arouses fascination. He tells us to leave everything and to devote our lives to the service of others. This, in turn, tends to social changes that really serve humanity. He manages to heal work, institutions, economic and social life, political community, culture, and science so that they comply with the norms of justice and promote good.

On the occasion of Easter, I wish you the true joy of Easter, which will help us all overcome the difficulties of the present time and make noble human dreams come true. Christ is Risen, and we will be risen with him! I wish you all a blessed Holiday of the Resurrection!

Happy Easter from all of us at The Lay Institute of Divine Mercy

Novena to Divine Mercy – Third Day

Today bring to Me ALL DEVOUT AND FAITHFUL SOULS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. These souls brought me consolation on the Way of the Cross. They were that drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness.

Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wonderful love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection. Thus may they never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless mercy for endless ages. Amen.
