Fr. Juan Jose Ochoa was born in Jalisco, Mexico. Since age four, he felt called by God to become a priest. Fr. Juan attended Mother of Sorrows School and Cathedral High School in Los Angeles. After graduation in 2005, he entered the Juan Diego House in Gardena, the formation house for college seminarians. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2009. Upon graduating from college, he entered St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo.
On May 31st, 2014, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. He served as associate pastor at St. Emydius Church in Lynwood from July 2014 to June 2016. He went on to become an associate pastor at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and Master of Ceremonies to Archbishop Jose Gomez from July 2016 to June 2019.
After which, Fr. Juan first served as the administrator at Christ the King Church from July 2019 to 2021, and subsequently became its pastor for 3 years. He has also been the Director of the Office for Divine Worship for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles since February 2021. Currently, Fr. Juan J. Ochoa is the Rector of Divine Mercy Shrine of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
