Heart of Jesus, well-spring of all virtue

IMG_2768.jpeg

“He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus advanced [in] wisdom and age and favor before God and man” (Lk 2:51-52)

Jesus grew in God's grace and the people saw him how he grew in virtue. Jesus as God possesses the fullness of virtues, but His contemporaries discovered them in Him during His life. It is impossible to look at all the virtues visible in Jesus' life. We have already look over His great love, mercy and justice. Let's look at the virtue of religiosity. Jesus, after all days of teaching, healing, casting out evil spirits, goes to meet the Father. He prays for hours. He prays most often at night (cf. Lk 6:12), because it is a time of peace and quiet. Jesus only wanted to do the Father's will because for that he came to earth. And we know that he fulfilled it to the end. So we can say about the virtue of obedience. Undoubtedly, we can also see in him the virtues of prudence, purity, humility ... However, all the virtues of Jesus were accompanied by simplicity, so that others wanted to imitate him. The range of Jesus' virtues is enormous. However, if we look closely, we will see that there are virtues that were not present in his life. Faith belongs to such virtues. Jesus did not need faith because He knew the truth. What is hidden to us is obvious to Him.

LIVE THE WORD!

Look at your life, see your virtues. Choose one of them and decide in the near future to develop it in a special way.
